Cats, Bats and Pumpkins

Spooky half-term workshop
Monday 26th October 10.30-12noon

Come and join us for a workshop full of fun making seasonal decorations. We have cats or bats for you to make; you can colour a suncatcher pumpkin or turn a ball of wool into a creepy spider. You may have time to do them all!

This is a family workshop, suitable for all ages and parents/carers must stay with their child/ren. We have a choice of fun activities, so there is sure to be something to interest you. There will be a short break for a drink and a biscuit during the morning. The fee also includes a look around the Museum.

All that Glitters...

The History and costume design interpretation of pantomime

Talk, Tuesday 24th November, 2.00pm

All that glitters is presented by Wayne Martin. Wayne had over 20 years in costume design in all aspects of entertainment, before moving to Arts University Bournemouth in 2014 to pass his skills on to a new generation. His emphasis has been on historical cut and body sculpting through intricate boning techniques. He loves adding surface embellishment and historical decorative integrations into his garments. In 2026 Wayne was invited to be a judge for the Bafta Craft TV Awards, costume category.

Christmas Celebration Event

Come and join us for an exciting celebration of the year at Blandford Fashion Museum. This event will include stands showcasing local crafts including Dorset buttons, bead and glass, lace, jewellery and cards. There will also be a handling table where you can meet our collections team and find out more about the work we have been doing this year and our exciting plans for next year. In addition to this there will be a raffle with some fantastic prizes, a vintage 'bric-a-brac' stall and fun activities including 'guess the name of the doll' and 'guess how many sweets are in the jar'.
